Frequently Asked Questions
SIZING AND FIT
-
Measure your wrist, then match it to the size chart. Wrap a strip of paper snugly around your bare wrist just below the wrist bone, mark where it overlaps, and lay it flat against a ruler. That number is your wrist measurement — not the length of the bracelet, which is longer.
Our size guide will do the matching for you: choose your bead size, slide to your measurement, and it tells you which size to order and the exact range that piece adjusts across.
Each bracelet adjusts, but only within a range. It slides open to pass over your hand, then tightens onto your wrist — so the size you want is the one whose range your measurement falls inside.
If you land between two sizes, it’s best to order the smaller one for a more flush fit. A bracelet can always be worn looser, but it can't be made shorter than its beads.

-
More than you'd expect in one direction, and not at all in the other.
To get it on, it opens wide — roughly 1.75 inches past its worn size, which is plenty to clear your hand. That part is temporary. Once it's over your wrist you pull the two end beads and it draws back in.
As worn, each size covers about an inch and a quarter of wrist sizes. A Medium that closes down to 6.6 inches sits comfortably anywhere up to about 7.9 — snug at the bottom of that range, looser at the top.
What it can't do is go smaller than its beads. Every size has a minimum it won't tighten past, and that's the number listed on each product page. It's why picking the right size still matters even though the bracelet adjusts.

No problem - email us directly though our contact page prior to purchase to confirm we have sufficient beads in stock to accommodate your request.
-
Mostly it comes down to the look you want.
8mm is the everyday size. It sits close to the wrist, slides under a sleeve, and pairs easily with a watch. 10mm is the middle ground — substantial enough to notice, not so big it takes over. 12mm is a statement piece.
There's one thing beyond scale worth knowing: a bigger bead shows more of each stone. On a stone with real character — the matrix in African turquoise, the banding in jasper — 12mm lets you see the whole pattern in a single bead. At 8mm the same stone reads more as color than as pattern.
Two practical points:
Stacking. 8mm and 10mm stack comfortably. 12mm gets heavy and bulky stacked, so most people wear it on its own.
Your wrist. Larger beads sit further off the wrist, so they run slightly tighter at the same size. If your wrist is around 6 to 6.5 inches, 12mm may not have a clean fit — check the size guide before ordering, or go with 8mm or 10mm.
-
Absolutely! That is what they were designed for.
Because each bracelet tightens onto your wrist independently, a stack sits together without any one piece sliding around or riding up your arm.
A few things that make a stack work:
Two or three is the sweet spot for comfortably stacking 8mm and 10mm. Enough to look intentional, not so much that your wrist feels crowded. Although many collectors who wear these daily wear as many as 4-5 on each wrist. Totally up to you and your comfort level.
Mix bead sizes rather than matching them. An 8mm next to a 10mm reads as deliberate. Two of the same size in different stones can look like you couldn't decide.
12mm is usually better on its own, or paired with a single smaller bracelet. Two 12mm together get heavy and bulky.
Position the knots consistently. Tuck them all to the underside of your wrist and the stack looks clean from the top. Leave them scattered and that's what the eye goes to.
Order the same size for each one. Stacking doesn't change your size — every bracelet tightens to your wrist on its own, so they don't need to be progressively larger.
-
It stays where you set it. The knots grip by friction, so the bracelet only moves when you deliberately move it — pulling the end beads to tighten, or pulling the bracelet apart to open it. Normal wear doesn't do either.
A new bracelet is stiff. Opening and closing it takes a firm, deliberate pull for the first few wears, and that's how it should be — the knots are new and gripping hard. After a week or so the cord breaks in and it moves more easily. What changes is the effort, not the hold. It won't start slipping as it softens.
If it ever does drift looser, a quick pull on the end beads brings it back. That's the real advantage over an elastic bracelet: elastic relaxes permanently and eventually gets replaced, while a sliding knot can be re-tightened as long as you own it.
-
Three steps. Hold the beads on each side and pull apart — the bracelet opens wide. Slide it over your hand and onto your wrist. Then take an end bead in each hand and pull them apart until it sits snug.
That's it. No clasp to fasten and nothing to fiddle with. A new bracelet is stiff and takes a firm pull; after a few wears it moves easily.
-
Yes. The first two steps are easy one-handed — you're using your free hand to open it and slide it on.
Tightening is the part that seems to need two hands, and here's the trick: make a loose fist so one end bead is trapped against your palm, then pull the other bead firmly with your free hand. Your fist holds one side while you pull the other.
If you'd rather not bother, you can also tighten it before it's fully seated and just work it into place.
-
There's no elastic in these, so there's nothing to snap.
That's the failure most people have had with a beaded bracelet — elastic stretches out, goes baggy, and one day gives way and scatters beads across the floor. These are knotted onto cord instead. The knots grip by friction and can be re-tightened any time, so the bracelet doesn't have a wear-out point built into it the way an elastic one does.
Cord is not indestructible — it can be cut or abraded — but it won't fail on its own from normal wear.
-
First, ensure you have it opened to its maximum. The bracelet opens well past its worn size, and most of the time this is simply a matter of not having pulled it wide enough. Grip the beads on each side, not the cord, and pull firmly — a new bracelet is stiffer than you'd expect.
Tuck your thumb into your palm and make your hand as narrow as you can, then work it over the widest part — across the knuckles.
Don't force it. If it genuinely won't clear your hand at full width, it's the wrong size, and pushing will only stress the cord. Message us with your wrist measurement and we'll sort out an exchange.

-
Please don't. Our cord is a rayon-based silk, and rayon loses a significant amount of its strength when it's wet — a bracelet that's fine dry is far easier to damage soaked, especially if you tighten the knots before it dries.
Water is also hard on the stones. Some of ours are soft or porous, chlorine and salt water are harsh on all of them, and soap and shampoo leave a residue that dulls the polish over time.
Take it off for showers, baths, pools, hot tubs and the ocean. If it does get wet, lay it flat and let it dry completely before you adjust it.
-
You can, but we'd rather you didn't.
Nothing dramatic happens overnight. It's that eight hours of rolling against sheets and pillows adds up — the cord picks up abrasion, the end beads can catch on knitted fabric, and you're putting a night's wear on the bracelet for no benefit.
Taking it off at night also gives you somewhere consistent to put it, which is how bracelets stop going missing.
-
A dry, soft cloth. Wipe the beads after wearing and that's genuinely most of it.
For something that won't wipe off, dampen a corner of the cloth with plain water, clean just that bead, and dry it right away. Keep water off the cord and the knots.
Never soak it, never use jewelry dip, polish or ultrasonic cleaners, and keep it away from household cleaners, perfume and hand sanitizer. Put lotion and perfume on first, let it dry, then put the bracelet on.
-
These are natural stones, so they change a little with wear — that's normal, not a defect.
Sunlight is the main thing. Prolonged direct sun can fade some stones, amethyst and dyed stones especially. Don't leave a bracelet on a windowsill or a car dashboard.
Scratching depends on the stone. Jasper, agate, tiger's eye and onyx are hard and wear very well. Selenite and malachite are soft and will mark more easily — treat those as gentler pieces.
Hematite and pyrite can dull or spot over time with skin contact and moisture. Wiping them down after wearing keeps them bright.
-
Flat, dry, and out of direct sunlight — a pouch, a dish or a jewelry box drawer.
Don't hang it. Hanging keeps constant tension on the knots, which is exactly what you don't want on a bracelet that holds its size by friction.
Store it separately from other jewelry rather than loose in a pile. Harder stones and metal clasps will scratch softer beads if they're jostling together.
Stones and Meanings
-
Yes — our crystal and gemstone bracelets are all strung with genuine natural crystals and stones. We do however carry a few man-made stones such as goldstone and terrahertz. Any stone that is man made will be noted in the shop description.
While we aim to avoid any dyed or treated stones, some stones are treated as standard practice in the industry - but that doesn't make them less real. Any stones we knowingly purchase that has been treated or dyed will be transparently expressed in the shops product description.
-
While we make every effort to update photos in our shop every time new inventory arrives, it is impossible to guarantee the stones will look exactly as pictured.
Because we are using natural stone, the color, veining and depth vary from bead to bead and piece to piece. Two African turquoise bracelets will never be exactly the same, although each piece will be recognizably the same stone as the photo, with its own pattern.
Our shop photos show real products only, not renderings like you may see in other areas of our website. So the products in the shop are a fair guide to what you'll get. But if you're expecting an exact match to the image, natural stone isn't the right material — the variation is what makes each one its own.
-
Whichever feels right. There's no rule, and comfort should win.
If you want the traditional framing: the left wrist is usually described as the receiving side, for drawing a stone's energy inward, and the right as the projecting side, for sending intention outward. Many people wear grounding and protective stones on the left, and stones tied to manifesting on the right.
Plenty of people simply wear it on their non-dominant wrist so it's out of the way. That's a perfectly good reason too.
-
Crystals naturally absorb and hold energy from the people and spaces around them. Giving them an occasional cleanse helps restore their clarity and intention, like opening the windows and letting fresh air in. Included with your purchase you’ll likely find some tools to help with this process
Simple ways to clear your stones
• Moonlight – place under the full moon overnight
• Sunlight – a short morning sun bath (avoid long exposure for delicate stones)
• Smoke – sage, palo santo, or incense
• Sound – bells, singing bowls, or gentle music
• Selenite - place your stones in a small bowl with selenite and leave overnight

Guarantees and Repairs
-
Yes. We stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every piece we create. Chakra Rocks offers a 90-Day Craftsmanship Guarantee beginning on the date your order is delivered.
If you experience a problem that appears to be related to the materials or craftsmanship of your piece, please contact us with your order information and a photo of the item. We’ll review the issue and determine the best way to make it right.
-
Our guarantee covers defects in materials or craftsmanship that occur during normal wear, including issues with stringing, elastic, clasps, closures, or other jewelry components.
Depending on the piece and availability of materials, Chakra Rocks may repair or replace the item.
-
Our craftsmanship guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, improper care, stretching over time, scratches, tarnishing, damage caused by water or chemicals, snagging, crushing, dropping, lost or stolen jewelry, or pieces that have been altered or repaired by someone other than Chakra Rocks.
Natural variations in gemstones, including differences in color, pattern, texture, shape, inclusions, or markings, are part of what makes each stone unique and are not considered defects.
-
Please don't panic, and if possible, save the beads!
If your bracelet breaks, contact us with a photo and your order information. If the break is determined to be a craftsmanship issue and occurs within our 90-Day Craftsmanship Guarantee, we'll work with you to repair or replace it.
If the bracelet is outside the guarantee period or was accidentally damaged, we may still be able to restring or repair it for a reasonable fee.
-
Yes, whenever possible. We want you to be able to enjoy your Chakra Rocks jewelry for a long time.
Repairs and restringing outside of the guarantee period are evaluated individually and may include a repair fee, replacement-material costs, and shipping.
Because many of our stones are natural and some are limited or one-of-a-kind, we cannot guarantee that an exact replacement stone or component will always be available.
-
Send us what you have and contact us before mailing your piece. We may be able to replace missing beads or stones, depending on availability. Because natural gemstones vary from stone to stone, replacements may not be an exact match in color, pattern, or appearance. Additional material charges may apply.
-
For repairs, restringing, or damage that is not covered by our 90-Day Craftsmanship Guarantee, customers are responsible for shipping costs to and from Chakra Rocks.
If we determine that an issue is the result of a craftsmanship defect covered by our guarantee, Chakra Rocks will cover standard shipping costs associated with the repair.
-
Repair times vary depending on the type of repair and the availability of the original stones and materials. Once we have reviewed your repair request, we'll provide more information about what is needed and the expected timeframe before proceeding.
-
Absolutely. Although custom orders are final sale, they are still covered by our 90-Day Craftsmanship Guarantee for defects in materials or workmanship.
After the guarantee period, we may also be able to repair or restring a custom piece for a fee, depending on the availability of the original stones and materials.
-
We will always do our best to select the closest possible match, but because we work with natural gemstones, no two stones are exactly alike.
Variations in color, pattern, inclusions, translucency, texture, and markings are part of the natural beauty and character of the stones we use.
